Diamond Easel Card

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card for an extra special lady who is turning 80 soon - one of my regular crafters (she is not on social media so I know I am safe sharing it here!).  At a recent class she had loved the Forever Fern DSP and the colours we had used, so I knew this is what I had to use to make this card for her.

The card is a diamond easel fold which is very easy to make, you do need 12"x12" cardstock as you need a 6"x12" piece of cardstock to make the cardbase. I had a pack of in-colour 12"x12" cardstock, so I used a piece of Just Jade as the base colour and then used Pretty Peacock for all the mats. I selected two different DSP designs from the Forever Greenery pack.

I used the Forever Fern stamp set to create a bouquet of foliage using a variety of green tone inks - Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Just Jade. I added a large Just Jade leaf at the back of the bouquet to bring everything together, added champagne foil 80 and finished off by adding a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I added a sentiment on the bottom portion of the card which also acts as a stopper to hold up the easel part of the card.  I used the Stitched So Sweetly metal dies and once again added a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I added another sentiment inside the card where you could write a message, I took the opportunity to highlight the stamps once again from the Forever Fern set and added a sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers set. As there are going to be several of us signing the card I will add a piece of whisper white on the back for us all to write our birthday messages.

This is my first diamond easel card and I have to say I love the finished look.  I will have to add more of these to my "projects to do list"!!

Mini catalogue and Sale-a-bration

As you can probably tell from my blog posts last week, I love the Ombre DSP that you can get for FREE when you spend $60 on Stampin' Up! products. I saw a post recently from a fellow demonstrator - unfortunately cannot remember their, so my apologies I cannot give them credit - but I loved the cards they had made and knew I had to create some similar cards. I used the plain side of the Ombre DSP - but there is nothing plain about this paper! I used the Dragonfly image from the Dragonfly Gardens stamp - there is a coordinating punch that makes it easy to punch out the dragonfly images.  I didn't need to use the punch on this project as I stamped directly on the basic white square.  I used Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, Rococo Rose and Bermuda Bay ink to stamp the images. I used a different ribbon and various embellishments on each of the cards - matte black dots, pastel pearls and opal rounds - along with a simple sentiment from the Dragonfly Gardens stamp set, stamping
