Colouring with Stampin Blends!

Who loves to colour? I do!! I can spend hours just colouring.  Stampin' Up! has some amazing stamp sets with images that are ideal for colouring with the Stampin Blends.  The Blends are the perfect medium for both beginner and avid crafters alike.  They are sold in pairs - a light and dark shade of each colour, this allows the user to create beautiful projects adding definition and shading to images. I am offering a Stampin Blends Club as part of my schedule this year and this past weekend was the first of four sessions. The crafters learned the basics of colouring with the Blends.  Good Morning Magnolia is the perfect stamp set to use as it has a large flower image that is ideal for colouring and adding shading. Each month the crafters will get different colours to build their Stampin Blends collection, we started with Mossy Meadow, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink.  You don't see the true colours in the photos but you can see how the two shades allow you to add the shading and

Chopping Up Your DSP!

If you are like me, I love DSP and often find it difficult to cut it up and use it. Kylie Bertucci, an Australian SU Demonstrator, recently encouraged you to chop up your DSP - I took the plunge! I chopped a few sheets of DSP into 4"x4" and then cut the square in half in various directions. This is what I created. If you chopped up a whole package of DSP into 4"x4" squares, you have enough to make 108 cards!!!! Then all you need to do is add a sentiment, some ribbon, and embellishments.   I made the sentiments easy too - I used the Many Messages bundle - which allows you to stamp and cut 19 sentiments all at once. I used the white kraft ink on black cardstock, I thought the black would coordinate with a variety of colours.  I then added some flowers and embellishments to finish off the cards. A super simple way to make a batch of cards for all occasions - give it a try! Product List Many Messages Bundle [ 156272 ] $68.25 Dandy Garden 6"

Snailed It

I have to say that I have fallen in love with the Snailed It suite of products. I made this card using the DSP and metal dies during my monthly team get together this past weekend. The DSP has some lovely combinations - real red, daffodil delight, blushing bride, bermuda bay and basic gray. For this card I used blushing bride and real red. I used 1" strips of DSP to create the design, I ended up up cutting the DSP in two directions so that the strips running towards the centre were in the upright direction - check out the card at the end where they were not - both work, but I do like this one a tad better. I adhered the strips to a white matt making sure they were evenly spaced.  I used multiple purpose glue as it is more forgiving and allows you to move the DSP before firmly adhering in place. Finish by trimming all the strips with your paper snips. I stamped the sentiment in real red ink and added a resin heart embellishment - simple but pretty.  My original card has the sentim

Sweet Strawberry

Today I want to showcase a bundle from the new mini catalogue and some products from the Sale-a-bration that coordinates with the bundle.  The Sweet Strawberry bundle is from the new Mini Catalogue The Coordinating DSP and Berry Blessings are from the Sale-a-bation catalogue and you can get them FREE when you spend $120.  Here is the card I made using Sweet Strawberry bundle and the coordinating DSP.   I used Poppy Parade for the cardbase layered with a piece of DSP and cut out a circle with a metal circle die.  I used Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade for the circle and scalloped circle, I stamped the two strawberry images and cut them out using the coordinating punch. I cut two strips and created a flag on each end, I stamped the sentiment in granny apple green and used a metal die from the tailored expressions dies to cut it out and ties a length of white twine and tied it in a bow. I like the simplicity of the card and I love the bright colours - perfect to add a pop of colour d
