Snowflake Splendor Fancy Fold

I really enjoy making fancy fold cards, often they look complicated or fussy to make, but often they are quite easy and that's the case for this card.  From the outside it looks like your usual card, but open it up and that's where you see the fancy fold!

I love the DSP from the Snowflake Splendor suite and this card really showcases the paper.  I used other elements from the suite - stamp set, dies, ribbon and embellishments.  I started off with the usual 51/2" x 4 1/4" cardbase, added a highland heather mat followed by snowflake splendor DSP.

One of the cards I cut out small snowflakes in silver foil and used the tasteful labels dies to cut out the sentiment.  I think it makes the card so elegant.  For the other card I customized a snowflake using three different layers; balmy blue and highland heather cardstock and silver foil, for both cards I added a blue gem to each snowflake to give them a bit of glimmer along with snowflake splendor ribbon.

Now to the inside ...

Two white mats are adhered to the card base and then I cut a strip of pacific point cardstock that measures 1 3/4" x 11' and scored at 2 3/4", 5 1/2" and 8 1/4" and burnish creating a "w".  I then cut 4 rectangles at 2 1/4" x 2 3/4" in pacific point and two pieces of DSP and two whisper white measuring 2" x 2 1/4". On the whisper white pieces I stamped snowflakes from the snowflake wishes stamp set and added some silver foil snowflakes to add some sparkle.

As there is limited space to write your message inside the card, I added a whisper white mat on the back of the card and added some more snowflakes in balmy blue and highland heather.

I just love this suite and all the colours coordinate so nicely together - pacific point, highland heather and balmy blue along with the silver foil. Perfect for the holidays but also throughout the winter. I will be including this fold in my Fancy Fold Class on December 5, I would love to have you join us.

Diamond Easel Card

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card for an extra special lady who is turning 80 soon - one of my regular crafters (she is not on social media so I know I am safe sharing it here!).  At a recent class she had loved the Forever Fern DSP and the colours we had used, so I knew this is what I had to use to make this card for her. The card is a diamond easel fold which is very easy to make, you do need 12"x12" cardstock as you need a 6"x12" piece of cardstock to make the cardbase. I had a pack of in-colour 12"x12" cardstock, so I used a piece of Just Jade as the base colour and then used Pretty Peacock for all the mats. I selected two different DSP designs from the Forever Greenery pack. I used the Forever Fern stamp set to create a bouquet of foliage using a variety of green tone inks - Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Just Jade. I added a large Just Jade leaf at the back of the bouquet to bring everything together, added champagne foil 80 and finished off ...

Celebrating with other Leaders

I want to share the amazing family and community that Stampin' Up! is.  This past weekend I had the honor to participate in a Leaders Summit for Stampin' Up! demonstrators who are at a certain level in the company.  It was supposed to be held in New Orleans, but unfortunately that was not to be, instead they moved the summit to a virtual platform.  This is Stampin' Up! leadership team . . . I was not sure what to expect, but it was an amazing few days to listen to keynote speakers and other demonstrators.  The day involved various events and opportunities to breakout into small group discussions.  At one of these sessions, I entered the virtual room and there is the CEO of Stampin' Up! - Sara Douglas, that was a complete surprise! My big take away from the event was that Stampin' Up! sees demonstrators as individuals and not as a number, and they want to offer the best possible environment for us to grow. They see the importance of developing relationship...
