Colouring with Stampin Blends!

Who loves to colour? I do!! I can spend hours just colouring.  Stampin' Up! has some amazing stamp sets with images that are ideal for colouring with the Stampin Blends.  The Blends are the perfect medium for both beginner and avid crafters alike.  They are sold in pairs - a light and dark shade of each colour, this allows the user to create beautiful projects adding definition and shading to images.

I am offering a Stampin Blends Club as part of my schedule this year and this past weekend was the first of four sessions. The crafters learned the basics of colouring with the Blends.  Good Morning Magnolia is the perfect stamp set to use as it has a large flower image that is ideal for colouring and adding shading.

Each month the crafters will get different colours to build their Stampin Blends collection, we started with Mossy Meadow, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink.  You don't see the true colours in the photos but you can see how the two shades allow you to add the shading and definition.

As I said, the Good Morning Magnolia is the perfect stamp set to use, not only is the flower large but it also has some definition incorporated into the image.  So it guides you where to use the darker shade and in turn provide the shading.

Once the crafters had finished colouring their flowers, we made two simple cards to showcase their colouring.  We created a flap using the nested label dies that tucked under the embossed cardstock and the magnolia image popped on the front using dimensionals. I added a few embellishments and then added some Wink of Stella - which you can't see in the photos - to the shaded areas

I really like how the project turned out, it really allows the magnolia be showcased along with the Stampin Blends. Check out the products below that I used to make the projects.

Diamond Easel Card

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card for an extra special lady who is turning 80 soon - one of my regular crafters (she is not on social media so I know I am safe sharing it here!).  At a recent class she had loved the Forever Fern DSP and the colours we had used, so I knew this is what I had to use to make this card for her. The card is a diamond easel fold which is very easy to make, you do need 12"x12" cardstock as you need a 6"x12" piece of cardstock to make the cardbase. I had a pack of in-colour 12"x12" cardstock, so I used a piece of Just Jade as the base colour and then used Pretty Peacock for all the mats. I selected two different DSP designs from the Forever Greenery pack. I used the Forever Fern stamp set to create a bouquet of foliage using a variety of green tone inks - Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Just Jade. I added a large Just Jade leaf at the back of the bouquet to bring everything together, added champagne foil 80 and finished off ...

Celebrating with other Leaders

I want to share the amazing family and community that Stampin' Up! is.  This past weekend I had the honor to participate in a Leaders Summit for Stampin' Up! demonstrators who are at a certain level in the company.  It was supposed to be held in New Orleans, but unfortunately that was not to be, instead they moved the summit to a virtual platform.  This is Stampin' Up! leadership team . . . I was not sure what to expect, but it was an amazing few days to listen to keynote speakers and other demonstrators.  The day involved various events and opportunities to breakout into small group discussions.  At one of these sessions, I entered the virtual room and there is the CEO of Stampin' Up! - Sara Douglas, that was a complete surprise! My big take away from the event was that Stampin' Up! sees demonstrators as individuals and not as a number, and they want to offer the best possible environment for us to grow. They see the importance of developing relationship...
